Our Pets

This is the page where I will tell you a bit about some of our animals and add pictures. We added Honey, the goose picture under Jennifers page since it was her baby.

The photo below is our newest addition to the family. Baby Mocha!!! I got him when he was 10 weeks old. Actually I was down getting him at the pet store when I heard the news about 9/11/01, a day of terror for the U.S.A. Mocha is a sweetie. Very active and healthy. What a joy he is to have in the house. Jenny calls him "lil dude", but his real official name is "MOCHA". He just had his 6th birthday on June 30, 2007
He was diagnosed with lymphoma in July of 05. The vet says its the longest she has seen a ferret live with lymphoma.
** Mocha died last september, a few days after his 6th adoption date.

candy19-cookie5.jpg

Candy was the small black dog. I got her when I was a little girl. She was 19 years old when we had her put to sleep. I loved candy very much. She was a great faithful dog that would protect me no matter what.

Cookie was a shepard/beagle mix. What an unusual dog she was. The only thing she protected was her food. She was a very lovable mutt. She got a trophy from obedience school. She had cancer and we had her put to sleep when she was about 8 years old.

This was our ferret Mischief. He was a great ferret. I had to have him put to sleep on August 23, 2001. He had been very ill, lymphoma, insulinoma and adrenal gland disease. We have tried an experimental drug form the adrenal and it extended his life and he still had a good guality of life. He was such a baby that he prefers to be hand fed. I tell you he was one spoiled little guy. In the end Mischief gave up on himself even when I didn't. He would eat for me because he knew it made me happy. He was never going to get better. So the vet and I made the humane choice to let him go. I do miss the little critter. I called him my fuzzy little gigalo.

Sad to report that on Nov 11th, 2003 Felix crossed to the rainbow bridge. He is very missed by his family.

Felix is our first cat. He turned 16 on April Fools Day 2002. He is very afraid of people. He not a very social cat. He mainly loves it when you don't bother him.

swampy.jpg

Sad news. Swampy was helped to the rainbow bridge on 9/7/06

Swampy will be 14 years old in the beginning of May. He came out of the swamp one day and stayed. Thats how he got the name Swampy. He is very lovable and loves all the attention you give him. He nearly died when he was 5 years old. Major surgery for him. We is still such a joyful cat considering all he went through. He is also a diabetic that required insulin twice a day. He is still an easy go lucky cat considering all he has been thought.
